This week meet another one of this year New Professionals Programme bursary holders, Annelie de Villiers, a South African living in Melbourne, Australia.
“I am currently working as a Research Assistant at Melbourne University whilst finishing my Masters’ thesis at Monash University.
I am the Assistant Research Archivist on the Return, Reconcile, Renew project where we are developing a data archive which will forge new ground in the Indigenous development of protocols for the digital archiving of, and online access to, information of high cultural sensitivity.
The topic of my Masters’ thesis is; ‘Let me tell you’: Designing the personal archive of children in out-of-home care.
The ICA Congress provides an invaluable opportunity for professional development and further development of my research questions in consultation with information professionals from around the world. Once at the Congress, I am particularly looking forward to attending the ‘Use of records and archives in justice, advocacy and reconciliation work’ papers and sessions.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the ICA for this invaluable opportunity! I am incredibly grateful and so excited to explore South Korea and meet other New Professionals from around the world.
