CENARBICA, the Regional Branch for Central Africa of the International Council on Archives (ICA), is pleased to invite the archival community (Directors General of Archives, Curators, Professors of Archival Studies, Archivists, Records Managers and Document Managers) of the Central African region to its first Webinar with the support of the ICA devoted to the general situation of archives in the member countries of the CENARBICA region.

This activity is part of the ICA’s policy of revitalising the sector and keeping archivists in touch with their sector.

To this end, the speakers (more information below) and participants will be given the opportunity to make a diagnosis, propose solutions and formulate recommendations with a view to finding solutions to the problem of archives.

All aspects of archive governance will be explored during the webinar, in particular: the law on archives, academic training, archive buildings, the profession of archivist, archival cooperation, professional training, the status of archivists, the professional integration of archivists, and archival disputes between countries and their former colonisers.
