The ICA’s Section on Sport Archives (SPO) is pleased to invite the archives and records management community to the second session of  #SPOontheSpot: Debates on Archives and Sport, a series of online debates on archives and sport. This session is scheduled for Wednesday 28 February 2024, and it will be dedicated to addressing the following questions: Why are sports archives important for university archives? What are the most popular sports items in our collections? How have university sports archives been shared within the academic community?

The guests are the following members of the ICA’s Section on University and Research Institution Archives (SUV):

  • Caroline Brown, University Archivist and Assistant Director, LLC&I (Culture & Information) Library, Learning, Culture & Information, University of Dundee
  • Karl Magee, University Archivist in Library and Archives Research Support at the University of Stirling.
  • Ajit Gandabhai, Founder of the Non-Racial Sports History Project in South Africa
  • Garfield Lam, Acting Head of Archives and Special Collections at the University of Hong Kong
