On June 9, 2017, the National Archives of Japan will organize a commemorative symposium to celebrate the 10th International Archives Day in Tokyo. This symposium can be traced back to the event in 2008 in response to the call from the International Council on Archives.
We will invite 2 speakers for the keynote lectures. Mr Kazuki Iguchi, the president of the University of Fukuchiyama and also the special advisor of the Kyoto Institute, Library and Archives, will talk about ‘What is needed now for local authority archives’. The other lecture by Ms Atsuko Toyama, former Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and currently the President of Toyota Foundation, will be ‘Mt Fuji and Japanese Culture’.
